In Gene's words...
I have been a working artist for over 50 years. I began working with limited edition woodcut prints a few years after moving to the Skagit Valley in northwest Washington State. The light and atmospheric conditions created by the Salish Sea, Skagit River Valley, and Mount Cultus looming to the east have a strong influence on my work. Good composition and meticulous craftsmanship from the initial image to the finished framed piece creates a high quality, long lasting work of art. I owe a debt of gratitude to the painters, printmakers and jewelers of the highest quality from around the world who helped me become a working artist and master jeweler over the past 60 years.
"Without craftsmanship inspiration is a mere reed shaken in the wind".
Johannes Brahms
